The "Arigapudi Vijay Kumar Foundation – for the promotion of Arts and Culture", the AVK Foundation for short, was established on 29 December 2019 at Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Nampally, Hyderabad.
The grand Inaugural event in 2019 resonated with the soul-stirring melodies of music, the rhythmic beats of folk performances, and the grace of dance, captivating audiences and dignitaries alike. With a stellar presence of luminaries from the realms of art, culture, politics, social work, and Padmashri awardees, AVK Foundation was born as a testament to the transformative power of the arts.

The AVK Navaratna 2019 - Jeevitha Saaphalya Puraskara award ceremony was organized to coincide with the Inauguration. Nine prominent and accomplished individuals were honored with Lifetime achievement awards at the ceremony.
Dr. AVK added energy to the event with his hallmark – ‘’Namaste…namastey…how are you everyone”, his usual way of greeting anyone, however prominent or unfamiliar. The award function was carried out with packed audiences and the awardees all expressed their happiness at the event.
Awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his Book – ‘’Rugvedam: Nutana Bhasha Pustaka Sameeksha.’’ The author dedicated the book to Ln Dr. AVK. In his acknowledgement, Dr. AVK said that the author is someone he used to admire since his younger years, and would eagerly look forward to his literary publications. Addressing the author as ‘’Mastaaru’’, the Telugu equivalent of teacher, Dr. AVK expressed his profound happiness about giving this award.
Awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her discourses on matters of spirituality and dharma-based code of conduct. Dr. AVK expressed that he holds her work and her proficiency in high regard and is happy to honor her with the award.Smt Satyavani responded with gratitude for being chosen.
Awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his accomplishments as a politician of mettle.
He expressed his satisfaction and profound happiness at the inception of the AVK foundation.
K.I. Varaprasad Reddy was given the ‘Padma Bhushan award’ in 2005 for his contribution in the field of science and engineering. He stated that ‘’Wealth’’ has to be created and then distributed to the needy and that ‘’Giving’’ to society is required along with ‘’Receiving’’, without that life may not be fulfilled.
As AVK foundation has long been involved in social service along with promoting arts and culture, he had suggested to include social service in the logo when the foundation idea was being discussed. He congratulated Dr. AVK for creating a brand for social service and expressed his happiness to share the stage with such award recipients and receive this award.
“Ln. Dr. AVK has done more social service than what we have heard so far. We need one month to fully hear about his contributions to society. In spite of doing so much, there is no ego or arrogance in him." He expressed his happiness at receiving the award.
Dr Shobha Naidu received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1991 and the Padma Shri award from the Government of India in 2001. She is a prominent dance doyen and has been a Natya Guru to many. Dr Naidu was presented the award in absentia.
Dr. Shobha Raju is an Indian devotional singer, writer and composer, known as an exponent of Sankirtana of the divine compositions of the saint-composer Annamacharya. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her contributions to arts in 2010. She is the founder of "Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini" (ABV). Dr Shobha Raju was presented the award in absentia.
Roja Ramani is an Indian actress who predominantly worked in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films. She was a child actor and her debut movie was Bhakta Prahlada for which she received the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. In her speech, she thanked the AVK foundation for awarding her in the presence of such eminent personalities. She expressed her heartfelt happiness about Ln. Dr. AVK being given the title ‘Kaliyuga Karnudu’ and wished that brand AVK becomes the No. 1 in social service.
Dr. P.L.N. Kapardhi is a prominent Cardiologist and has an experience of 31 years in this field. He expressed great joy on being associated with Ln.Dr. AVK while setting up ECG machines at Tyagaraya Ganasabha which woud be used in offering free weekly heart check-ups to visitors. He expressed his wish to participate in health camps conducted by the AVK Foundation in the coming times.
The special Guest at the event was none other than Major General Retd. A R Kumar, Ln AVKs elder brother who hoisted the Foundation’s flag and marked the beginning of this great journey.
Musical Performance by Swara Raga Sravanthi organization and dance performances by Nataraj academy enlivened the event.
